For fifty years the Yorkshire Riding Centre has been offering top class training for horses and students from around the world. The centre is under the direction of Christopher Bartle and his sister Jane Bartle-Wilson. Themselves both Olympic competitors, they both offer training and tuition at the centre and around the world.
The centre is located in North Yorkshire, in the village of Markington. Between the spa town of Harrogate and the city of Ripon.
Set in over thirty acres of rolling Yorkshire countryside, part of the Barolin Farm estate, the centre offers superb facilities. Two large indoor arenas, an international size outdoor dressage arena, an outdoor jumping arena, a selection of cross country fences from novice to intermediate standard, and a canter track. We provide quality stabling for up to fifty horses.
Our team of Instructors are available for training riders of all levels of ability and experience on their own horses. We also have a small number of well trained school horses for those riders who do not have a horse or who would like to supplement the training with their own horse.
Livery service is offered for full or short term periods and of course for competition horses with visiting students.
Throughout the year we host clinics with resident and visiting trainers as well as affiliated and unaffliated dressage and occasional unaffiliated jumping competitions.
All of the centre’s facilities are available for hire to individuals, small groups, visiting trainers, riding clubs and pony clubs.
In addition to the equestrian facilities, we have excellent accommodation available on site either in the Courtyard Guest House or in the Chalet accommodation.
